What Is Vaginal Rejuvenation?

Vaginal Rejuvenation is a treatment focused on restoring vaginal functionality, including increased moisture, elasticity, and reduced laxity.

There are 2 types of Gynecological Lasers (and more than 35 brands) for this purpose: CO2 Laser and Erbium Laser.

Fractional CO2 Laser, the Oldest and Most Common Vaginal Laser

Edge One, Co2Re Intima, MonaLisa Touch, etc.

• Pros: Excellent results for vaginal dryness during menopause and postpartum, the most affordable of the lasers.
• Cons: Being fractional, it only treats 10-15% of the vagina, resulting in little to no effect on incontinence and tightening, and presents greater adverse effects such as a burning sensation for 3 days.
• Requires 3-5 sessions, 1 per month, 1 week of abstinence after treatment, effects last approximately 12 months.

Erbium Smooth Laser, the Premium Laser for Vaginal Rejuvenation

Fotona® Rejuvelase, Incontilase, and Prolaplase

• Pros: Delivers long pulses that do not burn and work deeper, does not fractionate so it treats 100% of the vagina providing real tightening in a sustained manner, therefore it can treat laxity and incontinence without surgery with effects comparable to an incontinence mesh.
• Cons: More expensive than CO2 initially; in the long run, due to duration and benefits, it tends to be less costly.
• Requires 3 sessions, 1 per month, 3 days of abstinence after treatment, effects last approximately 18-24 months.
